How to Choose the Right Safety Helmet

safety helmet manufacturer in china

A safety helmet is designed to reduce the risk of head injuries from workplace hazards such as falling objects and impacts. When choosing a helmet, two important factors are helmet type and electrical class. Different types provide different levels of protection, so the right choice depends on the working environment.

Under ANSI/ISEA Z89.1, Type I helmets are designed mainly for impacts to the top of the head, while Type II helmets provide additional protection against lateral impacts. For electrical work, the class is also important: Class E provides electrical protection, Class G provides limited electrical protection, and Class C provides no electrical protection.

For general construction, a Type I helmet may be suitable when the main risk is falling objects. Where workers may experience impacts from different directions, Type II can provide broader protection. Always check the applicable safety standard and workplace hazards before selecting a safety helmet.
